Semi-empirical modeling of gamma-ray density logs with the possibility of obtaining more information

A semi-empirical model based on the forward scatter principle has been devised for describing the gamma-ray density log for oil well logging. This approach is significantly different from the existing primarily empirical model and approach that is presently used for this purpose. It offers the possibility of providing a more fundamental and accurate basis for log interpretation since the natural parameters used in this approach are also significantly different and more fundamental than the ones presently in use.
